Ministry of Sound Red Sea

Egpyt’s DJ Spin aka Khaled Khalifa continued his life-long fascination with music by playing around with decks at the turn of the millennium.

Inspired by international artists such as Puff Diddy, Biggie Smalls and 112, and DJs like the UK’s Junior J and Richie Don all assisted in perfecting his style.

His first DJ set was secured in Cairo’s highly reputable Exit Club, catering for a predominantly classy R&B / Hip-hop crowd each and every Sunday night.

After moving south to the Red Sea’s tourism hotspot of Hurghada later that year, he played at a variety of nightlife venues including many 5* hotels and local discothèques.

DJ Spin crossed the water in 2005 to Sharm El Sheikh to be a resident at the Salsa Club with his own party-promotion “Jamaica Night”, rammed with an adoring fanbase.

In June 2006 he received the call from one of Ministry of Sound’s promoters, and has since become one of Egypt’s favourite club residents.

August that year, Spin head-lined the opening night of Smoove @ Pacha in Sharm, dropping tracks to a one thousand strong crowd.

Proving as versatile as he is skilful, he has also been given the position of resident DJ at the world’s first Hed Kandi Beach Bar… Showing his talents in track selection cross genres like a raver walking through fields at Glastonbury.

2007 has also been a strong year for Khaled, playing alongside some the best of British DJs, including MTV Pimp My Ride’s DJ Richie Don, Emma Feline, Junior J and Hed Kandi star Miss Kelly Marie.

You can catch DJ Spin live at Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi Beach Bar (Hurghada) and at Ministry of Sound at Pacha (Sharm El Sheik) each and every week.
