DJ Nick Bridges

DJ Nick Bridges Interview

When did you first start DJ’ing and how did it all begin?

1992. I borrowed some decks off a friend and was hooked immediately.

Best gig of all time, either as DJ / punter, and why?

I’ve played some great parties this year. The Australian and Brazilian tours in particular were amazing. Incredible sound systems and huge crowds.

Which are you best three clubbing cities / countries worldwide, and why?

London, Madrid, Rio. Madrid and Rio have an aura about them. The atmosphere at the parties are always off the hook. London has some of the best clubs in the World like Fabric and Ministry of Sound.

What does the Ministry of Sound brand say to you?

I have worked closely with Ministry of Sound since 1998, (tour resident 1999-2005, MoS London resident 2002-2004). It is still one of the strongest brands in the World and continues to set standards.

Give us your first impressions of the Ministry of Sound Red Sea venue?

It’s a great club. The layout is really unique and the parties have been great

With Ministry of Sound Red Sea and Hed Kandi Beach Bar both running successfully in Hurghada, Egypt – do you think we could be talking about a serious clubbing destination, either at present or in the near future? If so what else is required?

MoS Egypt has played a great part is growing Electronic Dance Music in Egypt. I can’t see it becoming the new Ibiza in the near future because there are many territories around the World that have been developing a dance music culture for a lot longer.

What was the team at Ministry of Sound Red Sea like?

Great fun. They certainly know how to party themselves.

How was the actual club-night you played at?

I’ve played at ‘The Beach’ a few times. All the parties have been very busy.

What tunes got the biggest reactions on the night?

Bodyrox ‘Yeah Yeah’.

How did the crowd differ from the normal clientele? Their response, musical preferences etc?

They residents are quite upfront so the crowd are used to good music.

What other events and projects are in the pipeline for you in the near future?

We are currently working on a Bodyrox album in between touring. Check out www.MySpace.com/DJNickBridges and www.BodyRox.co.uk for more details.
