Josh Demello, aka Joshua Somers is one of the fastest up and coming DJs on the UK house music scene. He has been on the circuit for a fair few years now, under various guises, all stretching a number of genres.

It all started for Josh back in 1998 at the very innocent age of 9 years old. At the time his father promoted illegal raves and warehouse parties. He instantly fell in love with the whole idea of becoming a working DJ, so he acquired some cheap decks and started his record collection. Whilst the other kids were saving up for their favourite comics, Josh was already saving hard for the latest tunes.

After a beginners and intermediate DJ Course at the Leeds College of Music, he then started to travel around the British mainland playing nearly every weekend. These early gigs opened his eyes at a random selection of secret raves, pirate radio stations and warehouse parties (including the infamous Leeds’ Mean Wood Road events).

Josh also played for events such as Smoke Screen, Ruckuss Sound System, Cabbage, Global Gathering, Love Parade 2000 (at just 11 years of age!), Glastonbury Festival, a big Warehouse party in Ireland, The Eclipse Festival in Cornwall, Unity Day and the Ls8 Sound system.

After then completing a one year course at the Leeds College, studying Music Technology he learnt how to produce using Cubase, Acid and Reason. He has recently been concentrating on his production and when he gets back in the U.K he will be releasing some of his tracks.

Josh Demello has played at some of the best clubs in the world. Those obviously include his current residencies at Ministry Of Sound Egypt (making him the youngest Ministry Of Sound resident DJ), coupling up with regular slots at the world’s first Hed Kandi Beach Bar, constantly spinning alongside top DJs from around the globe at both venues.
