When did you first start DJ’ing and how did it all begin?
"Started DJing at 15/16, got into production around the same time too. I worked the London circuit from 18/19, and just aimed higher every year. So far, so good!"
Best gig of all time, either as DJ / punter, and why?
"As a punter it would have to be the last Peach @ Camden Palace in London, very emotional. As a DJ, luckily there have been quite a few highlights…Playing Camden Palace, Main room Turnmills, Main room Slinky, but supporting Paul Oakenfold most recently tops it all off!"
Which are you best three clubbing cities / countries worldwide, and why?
"I think London used to be, but with a lot of the clubs/nights shutting for one reason or another, it has gone down hill of late. Ibiza is the obvious one, but rightly so, just an amazing place to go clubbing, and to chill out in the day."
What does the Ministry of Sound brand say to you?
"Big. It is responsible for most of the cross over dance music these days."
Give us your first impressions of the Ministry of Sound Red Sea venue?
"Really was amazing. The beach was awesome, and it was quite strange how you sunbath there during the day, then dance your socks off at night."
With Ministry of Sound Red Sea and Hed Kandi Beach Bar both running successfully in Hurghada, Egypt – do you think we could be talking about a serious clubbing destination, either at present or in the near future? If so what else is required?
"I think Egypt is a very up and coming holiday destination for the younger crowd. Its within the right price range, and offers amazing weather, almost all year round. It defiantly has the foundations to become a very successful holidaying destination."
What was the team at Ministry of Sound Red Sea like?
"Very welcoming. Even the local guys who didn’t speak to much English. Made the effort."
How was the actual club-night you played at?
"I felt privileged to play at one of the White Sensation parties…so as you can imagine, just under 2000 people, all in white, neon lights everywhere, and possibly one of the most up for it crowds I have played to….that says it all!"
What tunes got the biggest reactions on the night?
"'Axwell – Sunrise' got a very good reaction, and also ‘Waiting 4’ by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers also took the roof off!"
How did the crowd differ from the normal clientele? Their response, musical preferences etc?
"Hard to answer that as I played at an event that happens once, twice a year, so the crowd were hyped from the word go!"
What other events and projects are in the pipeline for you in the near future?
"Doing some more work with Perfecto, and my release/remix schedule is solid!"
