DJ Ande aka Andy Foster, first got into dance music after investigating and investing in a selection of mix-tapes from a guy at school, back in 1988. After hearing such tunes as “Right Before My Eyes” by Patti Day and “Rescue Me” by Debbie Malon he was hooked and purchased his first Technics SL-1200 at the fruitful age of 16.
With a friend he went on to promote several events at The Highfield in Dartford, Kent, still aged just 16. From here things went from strength to strength and Ande started to play events for friends around the Kent and London area.
By now well and truly into the 90s rave scene, he became an avid collector of Hardcore and Drum‘n’Bass. Gaining impressive DJ slots alongside such pioneering artists as; Kenny Ken, Slipmatt and DJ Randall at the Bass Club (Kent).
Moving north in 1998, Ande secured residencies at Fusion and The Sanctuary in The Midlands. He also played many clubs around Stoke-On-Trent where the legendary Sasha started his career, including Fat Cats, The Tube and Valentino’s… Ande also hosted a regular Saturday night at Bugged Out in Satchmo’s, attracting a huge following up until its closure a few years ago.
DJ Ande is now resident at Ministry of Sound Red Sea and the world’s first Hed Kandi Beach Bar venue based in Hurghada, Egypt. His recent gigs have seen him playing alongside Hed Kandi DJ Jack McCord, and the legendary superstars like Tall Paul and Brandon Block at Ministry of Sound.
Ande’s versatile styles can be found when playing the freshest and most soulful funky house at Hed Kandi, heading more tough and tribal for the new monthly Ministry of Sound Red Sea night “Gorgeous”.
