As things approach boiling point, the ever-bubbling nightlife surrounding Egypt’s Red Sea continues to make some very impressive waves within international dance music circles.
Reports are flooding in of 3000+ people at the full capacity White Sensation party in April, alongside current booking negotiations with some American super-star DJs for Ministry of Sound Beach Club, and not forgetting the imminent launch the new Hurghada Marina, right next-door!
Ministry of Sound resident DJ, the UK’s DJ Walterwall spoke exclusively to www.Clubbing-uk.com, saying: “Things are just manic at the moment! No sooner had we recovered from the incredible week with Ratpack’s 21st Birthday and the record-busting White Sensation Party in April, then we're already planning bigger things - bring on that summer sun!”
More immediately the official after-parties for the new Hurghada Marina Boulevard’s Grand Opening Weekend will be held at Ministry of Sound Beach Club over the two days. The first weekend in June will see Cairo’s Nile FM hosting a Put Your Hands Up special club-night with DJ Carlos (Friday 6th June), whereby his set, alongside MoS resident Josh Demello’s sets will be recorded for broadcast at a later date. This will be followed on Saturday 7th for the hip-hop and R&B club-night Smoove with the immensely talented DJ Junior J returning for his quarterly appearance.
Other artists scheduled for future guest DJ slots include oldskool DJ duo and production outfit K-Klass billed to headliners for the summer White Sensation (Saturday 30th August). BBC Radio 1’s sister station One Extra will be shortly receiving a holiday request for one of their hip-hop and R&B urban DJ dons, Rampage for the Smoove party on 7th July.
The month of May welcomes the return of one of the youngest Hed Kandi residents, DJ Charlie Edwards for the Hed Kandi LIVE event on Saturday 10th – followed by the first guest DJ at Kandi’s Full Moon Party on Thursday 22nd (with Martin Doorly fresh from his Radio 1 debut). Meanwhile Ministry of Sound will also witness the talents of Doorly for a Put Your Hands Up special on Friday 16th a few weeks after Dutchman DJ Styles heads back for Smoove on Saturday 3rd.
