Ministry of Sound Red Sea

As Egypt’s Ministry of Sound crew get stuck in to the summer scheduling, preparations for the biggest thing in the city’s entertainment since, well – the opening of Ministry, are well under way next-door at the Hurghada_Marina_Boulevard.

Hosting the only official after-parties for the Marina Grand Opening Weekend, Nile FM’s DJ Carlos will headline Friday 6th June alongside MoS Red Sea resident Josh Demello (for broadcast on the station at a later date), followed by the UK’s DJ Junior J for Smoove on Saturday 7th June.

Ministry of Sound Egypt’s resident DJ, the UK’s Jay Grooves spoke exclusively to Clubbing_UK, and says: “June promises to be hot, hot, hot, in every possible sense of the word. The Grand Opening Weekend of Hurghad Marina Boulevard followed by two immense parties at Ministry is going to be another amazing start to another incredible month out here in sunny Egypt!

The delightful and delicious DJ Suzee X returns to rock the Red Sea Riviera yet again during the last week of June, Thursday 26th she’s in Hurghada’s Ministry of Sound Beach Club and Saturday 28th catch her at Ministry of Sound @ Pacha, Sharm El Sheikh. Fresh from her studio productions, you can be sure to get a sample of her latest efforts alongside her usual trademark party-rocking antics.

The devious Dutchman DJ Styles ripped up the show for May’s guest-DJ featured Smoove event, seamlessly chopping and blending old-skool to new – drawing hundreds of faithful urban hip-hop/R&B heads to see him.

A few weeks later Ministry of Sound (Hurghada) played host to perhaps one of the most technically-gifted DJs Egypt has ever witnessed! Fresh from his debut on BBC Radio 1, DJ Martin Doorly managed to miss not one, but two flights during his round-trip to Egypt. Confusing travel details aside, his magical use of multiple technics and CDJs warranted any wanna-be DJs to grow two or three new arms. Simply more musically-mesmerising than 2 Many DJs mashing-up five bootlegged tracks simultaneously, that man Doorly is a true genius.

July’s special events include Radio One’s sister station 1Xtra, lending us their hip-hop/R&B dons Rampage on 5th July for Smoove. The premier performance at Ministry of Sound Beach Club is sure to be one of the most impressive Smoove parties ever... followed up with a guest-DJ starring Gorgeous party (headliner still TBC). According to those in-the-know, July could be, and should be – one of the hottest and busiest months on record, or CD if you prefer.
